Fujairah University commenced operations in its new institutional form in January 2025, following the vision and initiative of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of the Emirate of Fujairah – May God Protect Him. The University was established as an integrated higher education institution with an independent identity, dedicated to enhancing the quality of higher education and advancing its system in the United Arab Emirates.
The University continues its journey under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, proudly carrying its motto: "The Future Rises from Here.
The University's academic journey dates back to 2006 with the establishment of Fujairah College, which laid the foundational pillars for its academic development and community service. In 2016, it evolved into University of Fujairah, marking a period of sustained academic growth, institutional expansion, and program diversification.
As part of the strategic development of the higher education system in the Emirate of Fujairah,Law No.(3) of 2024 was issued, mandating an institutional merger under the name "Fujairah University.
" This milestone inaugurated a new phase in the University's institutional journey with a renewed identity, strengthening academic integration and reinforcing its scientific standing.
Fujairah University is officially licensed by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. All academic programs are fully accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), in accordance with Ministerial Resolution No. (35) of 2024 concerning the institutional merger.
