The Department of Nursing at the University of Fujairah organized a specialized workshop titled “Leadership in Nursing” on Saturday, 14 February 2026, at Al Dhaid Hospital, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the integration between academic education and clinical practice. The initiative was held within the framework of the strategic partnership and Memorandum of Understanding signed between the University of Fujairah and Emirates Health Services, supporting sustainable professional development pathways and enhancing performance quality across the healthcare sector.
The event commenced with a recognition ceremony led by the Director of Nursing, honoring the team members who contributed to the preparation and delivery of the scientific content. The tribute acknowledged their professional dedication and collective efforts, reflecting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
The workshop attracted more than 60 in-person participants and 45 virtual attendees, including nursing leaders, representatives from the Nursing Office, and clinical staff. The program addressed advanced leadership themes such as vision and strategy, decision-making and delegation, conflict management, change and stress management, coaching and mentoring, financial competencies and return on investment (ROI), sustainability and business continuity, as well as quality improvement, key performance indicators (KPIs), and the Plan–Do–Study–Act (PDSA) cycle.
These topics were delivered through expert presentations, real-life case studies, scenario-based exercises, and interactive discussions that encouraged knowledge exchange and professional dialogue among participants.
The workshop was facilitated by a distinguished panel of faculty members from the Department of Nursing, including Dr. Ahmed Lotfy (Program Coordinator), Dr. Abdelhamid Mahrous (Workshop Coordinator), Dr. Jibi Varghese, Dr. Amina El-Zeiny, Moataz Abdel Salam, and Efrain Molina.
The event concluded with an emphasis on the importance of investing in the development of nursing leadership capacities and strengthening institutional partnerships to advance professional practice, in alignment with national healthcare quality objectives
