Fujairah University Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Al Jadeed TV

Fujairah University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Al Jadeed TV in a strategic move to develop academic programs in media that reflect the sector's rapid advances—particularly in artificial intelligence and emerging digital technologies. The MoU also aims to consolidate cooperation between both parties in preparing a new generation of media professionals equipped with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required by the labor market.

The agreement was signed on Wednesday morning at the university’s campus in Fujairah by Dr. Suleiman Al Jasem, President of Fujairah University, and Mr. Tahsin Khayat, Chairman of the Board of Al Jadeed TV, in the presence of representatives from both institutions.

Under the MoU, the two sides agreed to collaborate on developing, implementing, and delivering innovative academic and professional programs in new media. This ensures a strong link between academia and industry and enhances graduates' readiness to meet future challenges and seize opportunities in the media landscape. These offerings will include applied bachelor’s programs, professional diplomas, and micro-credentials in disciplines such as digital journalism, visual media, AI in media, and content creation, all designed in line with best practices.

The MoU further provides for designing and implementing a practical media training model as part of students’ graduation requirements. This includes a comprehensive training plan that places students in a real work environment within the channel’s editorial, production, and digital-platform departments to complement their academic coursework. It also encompasses short-term internships and field placements to reinforce the academic component.

Commenting on the signing, Dr. Suleiman Al Jasem affirmed that this partnership represents a pioneering strategic step in the university’s development of media education. "It opens new horizons for students to transition from theoretical learning to hands-on practice within an integrated media environment, thereby strengthening their ability to innovate and produce high-quality content that meets the demands of the digital age," he said. He added that the agreement helps build genuine bridges between the university and the media sector by enabling students to familiarize themselves with the latest technologies and platforms and to interact directly with industry experts. This enriches their educational experience and qualifies them to compete confidently in local, regional, and global job markets. He noted that through such partnerships, the university seeks to cement its position as a forward-looking educational institution preparing a generation of media professionals capable of leading change and making a tangible impact on the future of media.

For his part, Mr. Tahsin Khayat stated that cooperation with Fujairah University constitutes a strategic partnership that enhances the complementarity between the channel’s accumulated media expertise and the university’s academic capital. "This contributes to preparing media cadres capable of driving future change," he explained. He added that the channel’s experts would enrich students’ educational experience through lectures and practical workshops that provide deeper insight into the latest practices in the media industry. He also noted that this cooperation extends beyond academic support, opening the door for the channel to benefit from the creative energies and innovative ideas of university students. These contributions can help develop more diverse and engaging media content that reflects audience aspirations and keeps pace with the media landscape's rapid transformations.
